I was driving. So I couldn't answer the phone.

=운전 중이었어요. 그래서 전화를 못 받았어요.
=운전하고 있었어요. 그래서 전화를 받지 못했어요.
=운전하는 중이었어요. 그래서 전화 못 받았어요.

운전하다: to drive
전화를 받다: to answer the phone

Forms of Present Progressive : 
Noun + 중이다  (you can only put nouns that can be combined with the verb 하다.)
Verb-는 중이다
Verb-고 있다

How to say "Can't" :
못 + verb = verb - 지 못하다
전화(를) 못 받았어요 = 전화를 받지 못했어요.
cf) 못 전화받았어요 is wrong. When negating Noun+하다 verb, usually you have to separate Noun and 하다 and then put the negation adverb before the verb.

When negating 요리하다, you cannot say 안 요리하다.

요리 안 하다 is the correct form of negation, because when negating verbs that are the combination of Noun + 하다, like 요리(cooking) + 하다, you first have to separate Noun and verb, and then put the negation adverb before the verb, not before the noun.

Mom's not cooking right now.
엄마 지금 요리 안 하고 있어요. (O) 
엄마 지금 안 요리하고 있어요(X)

When negating Verb-고 있다, you can also negate it using Verb-지 않다. So if you combine the two, it becomes:
Verb-고 있지 않다.
엄마는 지금 요리하고 있지 않아요 (O)

When negating Verb-는 중이다, you say "Verb-는 중이 아니다."
아니다's present conjugation is "아니에요." So, you can say
엄마는 요리하는 중이 아니에요. (O)

몇: how many, a few
개: counter for small objects/items

몇 개 : how many things, a few things
몇 명: how many people

저는 올해 1월에 한국에 도착했습니다. 며칠 후에 다시 고국으로 돌아갈 겁니다.
I arrived in Korea in January this year. A few days later I will be going back to my homeland.

올해: this year
1월: January
도착하다:to arrive
며칠: a few days (stems from 몇 일, but the correct way to spell it is "며칠")
[time duration] 후에: after [time duration]
다시: again

돌아가다: to go back

내일은 회사에 일이 많아서 늦게 끝날 겁니다.
Tomorrow I have a lot of work at the company, so I'll get off late.

My younger sibling only has a small bag and has no big bag. So I let him borrow my own bag. When he comes back, I will buy him a big bag.

저는 동생과 여행을 갔습니다. I went on a trip with my younger sibling.
동생이 저에게 작은 가방을 선물했습니다. My younger sibling gifted me a small bag.
저는 동생에게 가방을 사주고 싶습니다. I want to buy my younger sibling a bag.
저는 동생의 가방을 빌렸습니다. I borrowed my younger sibling's bag.

빌려주다: to lend (let someone borrow)
빌리다: to borrow
돌아오다: to come back, return
여행가다: to go on a trip
선물하다: to gift, to give a present

요즘 많이 먹어서 살이 쪘어요. = 요즘 많이 먹어서 통통해졌어요.
I gained weight because I ate too much these days.
살이 찌다 : to gain weight
몸무게가 늘다: for your body weight to increase (to gain weight)

다시 날씬해지고 싶어요. = 다시 날씬해졌으면 좋겠어요.
I want to become thinner again. = I hope I become thinner again.
날씬하다: to be thin / 날씬해지다: to become thin, be thinner
Verb-았/었으면 좋겠다 : to hope (S) + Verb

지수가 슬퍼 보여요. = 지수가 슬픈 것 같아요.
Jisoo looks sad. = It seems Jisoo is sad.
Adj-아/어보이다: to look adj
A/V-ㄴ/은 것 같다: I think (S) + A/V, (S) seems to A/V

다시 말씀해주실 수 있나요? ≠ 다시 말해도 되나요?
Can you say that one more time? (asking a favor) ≠ May I say that again? (asking for permission)
Verb-아/어주다 + ㄹ/을 수 있어요? Can you verb, please? (A polite way to ask a favor)
Verb-아/어도 돼요? Can I verb? (Asking if it's okay if I do something - asking permission)

우울하다: to feel depressed, down
아무것도 + negative verb : nothing, not verb anything
아무것도 + 하고 싶지 않아요 = I want to do nothing (=I don't want to do anything)

제 친구들은 다 영어를 잘하는데 저만 못해요. All my friends speak English, but I'm the only one that doesn't.
저 빼고 제 친구들 모두 영어를 잘해요. All my friends speak English except me.
제 모든 친구들 중에서 저 밖에 영어를 못해요. I'm the only person who speaks English out of all my friends.
저만 영어를 못하고 제 친구들 전부 영어를 잘해요. Only I can't speak English, and all of my friends speak it well.

Noun 빼고: except noun
noun 밖에 + negative verb  = only noun + positive verb
Noun + 다 / 모두 / 전부 : all noun
모든 + noun : all noun

저 밖에 영어를 못해요 = Only I speak English.  /
저만 영어를 못해요 would mean, Only I cannot speak English.
저는 야채 밖에 안 먹어요. I only eat vegetables. (Vegetables are the only food I eat.)
저는 야채만 안 먹어요. I don't eat vegetables only. (Vegetables are the only food I don't eat.)

끝내다: to end, finish sth
Verb-는데 (time/money) 이/가 걸리다: to take (time/money) to verb

과제를 끝내는데 얼마나 걸렸어요? How long did it take for you to finish the assignment?

필요가 없는 물건을 버리는 습관이 중요합니다. 먼저 버릴 물건을 정하세요. 1년 이상 쓰지 않은 물건과 입지 않은 옷 등은 버리거나 다른 사람에게 주는 것이 현명합니다. 고민이 되는 물건은 1년 보관 상자를 만들어서 그곳에 넣으면 됩니다. 1년 동안 그 물건을 한 번 이상 사용하면 계속 가지고 있고 그렇지 않으면 정리하는 게 좋습니다. 필요 없는 물건을 버리기만 해도 방 청소가 됩니다.

It's important to have a habit of throwing out the things you don't need. First, decide what to throw away It is wise to discard or give away the things you didn't use or clothes you didn't wear for more than a year. For the items you are hesitant to throw away, you should make a one-year storage box and keep them there. If you use them more than once during that one year, you can keep them, and if not it's better to dispose of it. Just by throwing away those unneeded items, you will be able to clean your room.

고민이 되는 물건은 계속 가지고 있습니다. You should keep the things that makes you hesitant to throw away.
보관 상자는 기간을 정하지 말아야 합니다. You shouldn't set the duration for the storage box.

저는 지난주에 경기도 이천에서 열리는 이천 쌀 축제에 갔다 왔습니다. 이천은 쌀로 유명한 곳입니다. 쌀 축제에서는 쌀로 만든 떡, 술, 음식 등을 먹어볼 수 있습니다. 떡 만들기, 그릇 만들기, 한국 놀이 문화 체험 등 여러 행사가 열립니다. 저는 친구들과 가서 쌀로 만든 술인 막걸리도 마시고 친구에게 선물할 그릇도 만들었습니다. 만든 그릇은 불에 구운 후에 택배로 보내줍니다. 만든 그릇이 빨리 ( 왔으면 좋겠습니다 ) .

I went to the Icheon Rice Festival last week that was held in Icheon, Gyonggi Province. Icheon is famous for rice. At the rice festival, you can try rice cake, alcohol, and other foods made of rice. 저는 이천 쌀 축제에서 떡 만들기를 했습니다. I made rice cake at the festival. (She made Makgeolli and the bowl, not rice cakes.)
저는 이천 쌀 축제에서 친구에게 줄 그릇을 샀습니다. I bought a bowl to give to my friend at the festival. (This isn't correct because she didn't buy it; she made it herself.)
